1) Good, except it sounds like a headline. Just add an article and tighten it up a bit:
A couple injured in a March traffic accident was awarded $150,000 in damages yesterday at Butte County Court.
2) You're starting out with a headline again. Just cut your first sentence. (But remember this technique when we do broadcast -- it works there...just not for print.)
3) You've buried your lead. The news is not the fire itself, but that three firefighters were injured while evacuating 41 families from a burning building.
